Presentation about renewable energy sources

You are going to make a presentation about renewable energy sources using OpenOffice Impress.

As you know, you can include text, graphics, diagrams, photographs and sound in a presentation using this program.

This presentation has to include slides about hidraulic energy, solar energy, wind energy, geothermal energy, marine energy and biomass. Every slide must explain how we use this kind of energy, and the advantages and disadvantages of this renewable source. It would be better if you include pictures in the slides.

You can watch this video about presentations:

In this file you find advices about a good presentation:

You can find information about these sources on the internet and in your book. These links have information about this topic:

Solar energy, biomass and ocean power

We are going to study in this post these three renewable energies: solar energy, biomass and ocean power. The information we are going to study is on this web page:

You will find in this site made by Susana Amorós Ortega notes about energy resources.

Firstly, students read the document called Hand out 4.1. After reading, students have to answer questions about this text which are on page 12 of the Student worksheets.

Secondly, students read the document called Hand out 4.2 about biomass. After reading, they have to answer the questions which are on page 13 of the Student worksheets.

Finally, students have to read the text and answer the questions about ocean power which are on pages 13 and 14 of the Student worksheets.

Renewable and non-renewable energy

Today you are going to do these acivities found on these links:

Our carbon footprint

Energy and environment is the topic we study this week. Firstly, we are going to read a text about the carbon footprint. It is defined as the total amount of greenhouse gases produced to directly and indirectly support human activities, usually expressed in equivalent tons of carbon dioxide (CO2).

Click on this link to read the text:

After reading you have to answer the questions from the printable worksheet. Click on the link you will see on this webpage.

Finally, you are going to find out your carbon footprint using this calculator:
